NIN / QOTSA gig
just got home from the NIN gig... killer show. I managed to get up the front, or i should say 2nd row, i had 3 tiny short girls in front of me, so i had a perfect view and the really violent crowd was well behind me... so all good. QOTSA opened for them, I really wasnt impressed... really boring. NIN played the same set as the Melbourne gig, but it all made a little more sence. The Melbourne show seemed to have gaps and boring bits.. this gig filled those gaps for me.. Unfortunately cameras were not permitted so i have stolen these photos from the website, but the crowd was the same size. Was really glad i got to see them again, the gig was supposed to be months ago but was postponed... lucky me hey ! Val came with me, but we lost each other in the crowd, but she enjoyed it too. Anyway.. almost 4 am... going to sleep now !

Jess' Birthday, New York and Boston
ok, so all of these photos are in reverse order, but atleast im getting better at getting them into an order... well... im knackered to say the least, it's been a long but fun week away, let me start from the begging... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS !!!... thursday night we all went out for dinner and drinks, lucky for all of us Val brought along pink "my little (f**king) pony" birthday hats for everyone.. he he... Friday morning Kay, Jess and I went and got on a plane a flew to New Yoooooork....where everyone is very angry !!! As friday was Jess' official birthday we took her up the top of the Empire State Building for some pretty night lights. Unfortunately it felt like sub zero temperatures up there but we managed, Times square was a buzz. Saturday we walked all around NY, from 50th all the way to Battery Park and back again. ouch, but we got to see the Statue of Liberty (sort of), and look at the old WTC site, now just a big hole in the ground. Kay flew out on Sunday leaving Jess and i to tour through Central Park and try to take it easy with ailments of the blister variety. Monday we got a train to Boston to see an old friend of hers at Harvard, we got to sit a class on Negotiation Analysis, my idea of arm wrestling it out instead was kept quiet ! But at least i can say I went to Harvard. Tuesday we stopped in at the Cheers bar... remember Cheers... ?... unfortunately everyone didnt know our names, but you cant win them all ! Wednesday we went shopping through Cambridge and ate way too much. Thursday was a 4:45am rise to get our train back to NY where we went to 'Kats Deli' where they had the "Big O" scene from "When Harry Met Sally", and also went to C.B.G.B's, they were closed, but let us in for a wander around inside... much smaller than i expected, then for the icing on the cake we went to see Monty Pythons "Spamalot" their "lovingly ripped off stage show" of the Holy Grail, Tim Curry as Arthur and the guy that plays Niles on Frasier as Brave Brave Sir Robin... Fantastic show, we were laughing solidly for a good few hours... we then crashed out after a short stint at a bar called "Dicks"... i think Jess knew it was a gay bar but i was oblivious... typical !... got up at 4:45 this morning for our 7am flight back here to sunny S.F..... so all in all... a great week... but now im pooped and going to bed.

Frank Lloyd Wright Personalised Tour
So... Jess, Kay and Val all work in the same office, which is the FLLR's Marin County Civic Center, they are, in one form or another, all defence lawyers (or in the process of becoming). So I went up there for the day for lunch and a tour around. It was Frank Lloyd Wrights unfinished monster and played a big part in the movie "Gattaca", remember all those sterile rounded spaces?.... cool place. Jess took me into one of the court rooms to watch a hearing, I was worried I looked more like the "clients" than the clients did.... Took a few photos.

VIVA LAS VEGAS !!!
hey.... so i just got back from a serious 48 hour bash at Las Vegas, I feel like Franky-Four-Fingers on 'Snatch'. We had a killer time, managed to win a few and loose a few more, ended up deciding that 'the big wheel' was my favorite. Val won about $200.... bitch ! We saw a few shows also, those being 'tournament of kings' at Excalibur's (jousting and sword fighting) whilst we tore appart our whole (cooked) chickens with our hands as cuttlery was strictly forbidden......."GO DRAGON" ! And also went to see the "Blue men show" at 'the venetian'... that was a fantastic experience.... you cant go to Vegas and miss that... it was the highlight of my trip..... other than doubling up on a 7 & 4 in black jack and drawing a King, winning $60!... which helped cover the manditory "overseas ATM charges" of $30 the casinos charge..... (C, you , next, tuesday....'s). It's safe to say that we all burnt the candle at both ends and in the middle... 12 hours sleep for 4 days is pretty good, although i was pretty worse for wear this morning boarding the flight home.... drinking and gambling and laughing at the hookers work their (legal) magic has really taken it out of me... Unfortunately virtually nothing in the way of Elvis stuff there.... i think thats an old trend that has been taken over with all the bright lights.. here are a few highlights, the best of the 100 photos i took in 48 hours. now if you will excuse me i have a major Vegas AGB backed up ! ..... GO DRAGON !!!!
