Pre Halloween Pumpkin Carving and Party

Went and got a few pumpkins and and did some carving... before heading out to a pre halloween house party called "nuns with guns", Jess was an Aquarium, Bethany was a Pirate, Matt was a Fireman and i had a bit of a Donnie Darko thing, but only one random drunk guy got it.. saying "watch out for time portals". HA HA.... Monday is Halloween so we will be out in town doing the bit party thing. Looks like the photos wont come out in order, so ill let you work it out....

Just a drink or two..... really.

So.... Bethany was out on a first date that i really dont think she was in the mood for.... so Matt and I tagged along to 'wingman', she kicked us out of the car about a block away and we waited for her to go in, meet the guy and sit down for a drink.... then Matt and I strut in and plant our arses at the bar (incognito) !... We had a good spot where we could see them but not too close that we might get busted.... We just wanted to be close enough that if he did turn out to be an axe wielding psycho that we could atleast try and save her... Unfortunately he did turn out to be a bit of a bossy moron so Bethany called it quits and showed him the door, she even got in her car and did a lap of the block to make sure he was gone. Then she came back in, sat down with us (super spies 006 & 008) for a beer.... it looks at though we might have had more than one though... and a party really isnt a party until Val shows up.... here is the carnage.

Gridiron (cheerleaders), Pollock & Pool

Howdy folks.... yesterday was fun, Jess took me out to see a Raiders game..., no shyte seats in that stadium, we both worked on our 'left-side-of-the-face' tans, HA. I seemed to spend more time watching the cheerleaders though.... apparantly there was a game on or something???... i didnt notice..... afterwards we all went out for dinner to a comedy club and saw Kevin Pollock do a brilliant Christopher Walken impersonation. You may know him for movies such as "The Usual Suspects", "A Few Good Men" and my personal fave "Wayne's World 2".... he's a funny guy... after we went out for a few rounds of pool... i had to take a photo after winning flawlessly.... unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) they don't have the 'pants down' rule here... but i promised to blog the photo... so here it is.
otherwise all is well, we have ordered our Fiona Apple tix and soon to have my NIN tix. ... YAY.

Golden Gate Bridge Walk

Today Jess and I went for a walk over the Golden Gate Bridge. It's 2 miles long so we only walked half way out and back again. It was the only cold day we have had since I got here, plus we were out over the bay so it was windy and foggy. Dunno if you can make out the details on the sign above the section, but thats a whole lotta steel. We did a bit of shopping also.... It was a fun day. Hi all. X

Oktoberfest in San Francisco

Hey, yesterday was funny. It was the last day of the 3 day Oktoberfest that is "had" here in the San Fran. It was on one of the docks in what could pass as an aircraft hanger with piers on both sides... beautiful day, loads of drinks, 40 piece bavarian band, loads of people and one serious bratwurst. We spent most of the afternoon there, I even scored a free beer as the bartender thought i was cute, unfortunately HE is not my type. Then later all went out to "the stinking rose" which is a fairly well known little resteraunt that seems to put excessive amounts of garlic in everything.... fantastic feed, god we all stunk, and afterwards a stumble back to the train home after too much sun, beer, walking, standing, garlic, being hit on my guys and jagermeister...... but a fun day non the less. I get the impression this weekend will be similar... college football fallowed by the exotic erotic festival..... ???????? The photos are all of us just before we left and Jay blew a 0.275.... ouch... i think skulling a beer and then using a breathaliser is not going to give a fair read. He was also able to buy enough jagermeister shots from the scantly clad jager girl to score a free hat. Fun day.

Santa Cruz Rollercoasters

Hey all. Today Jess' friend Kay took me down to Santa Cruz, it's only about an hour south from here. It was a sunny day so we went on some roller coasters, ate some "taffy", visited a flea market, watched a marching band competition and strolled up and down the main street .... oh and ate burrito's or course... so basically a lazy day in the sun. I can't get the damn photos to match up but here is Santa Cruz beach and the Carnival (Just imagine they were side by side).. Now I'm off for a night on the town as the train line closes usually at midnight, but tonight it is remaining open all night as the bay bridge is closed for road works. Oktoberfest tomorrow..... rrrrggghhhh I'm sure my next posting will be a photo of me I dont remember taking...

Strolling around San Francisco

So far I'm finding San Francisco to be a pretty relaxed city. Today I went for a wander around the city centre, I covered quite a bit of ground I think. I guess I didn't really know what to expect of the place, but it is divided up into really clear cut sections; Financial, Italian, Chinese etc. Kind of bizzare actually. I've only been yelled at by one wierdo, the rest just seem to talk to themselves. Halloween is pretty big here and I stumbled into a Halloween dedicated shop, sooo many outfits and stuff, I dont know what our plans are for then but I'm sure it will involve stupid costumes and beer... Last night I was over at a friend of a friends place watching a Gridiron game, admittadly I'm no sports fan, but I really didn't get into it, even though the team we were going for won, only just... Still a fun experience though. Hopefully I will get to a game for real. Im also trying to get to see bands, Fiona Apple is playing here in a few weeks, and the cancelled N.I.N gig was postponed til about 3 weeks away, so I might go to that too.
Anyway, I'm sure you have seen the bridge above once or twice before. I havent been over it yet, but might get the chance next week if Im lucky.

Alcatraz and Beer

hey folks, today was pretty good, both a combination of cultural history and a modern culinary experience, Jess and I headed out to Alatraz.... you know, "escape from alcatraz" and "the rock" it was pretty creepy, small enclosed spaces and a real feeling of seperation from the rest of the city... but all in all a pretty fun experience. After we had Clam Chowder (a local dish).... and a you know what i am like with seafood, but all in all not bad... other than the jets going over my head every 5 seconds (still fleet week).... we later went pub hopping and had a few beers, met a few locals and relaxed..... i think i needed it as i havent had a chance to relax the whole time i've been here.... until now...
anyway... tomorrow is 'practical day'... shopping, cooking and the likes...
jess is off to work in that building they filmed "gattaga" in and im gonna chill out...
anyway... hope all is well...
sweet dreams and work etc.

Sunday, October 9, 2005

Hey folks, well I'm alive, the plane didn't go down, or get hijacked and I wasn't turned away by US customs for being too dodgy looking. Jess and I headed straight out the the pub after my 24 hours in the air, but a few Hoegartens later I was back on track. Had a bit of trouble sleeping friday night but after todays events i think i will be sleeping too much tonight. It is "Fleet Week" here in San Francisco, so we went out on a friends boat to watch the "Blue Angels" do formation fly by's and had a few beers, It was pretty layed back but a bit too much sun plus a tour around town and a few beers has definately put me on my arse. Tomorrow (Sunday) we are off to Alcatraz for a tour and probably a few more beers. I'm wrecked so I'm going to bed.
