Planning the next one.
It's a long way off but I'm planning the next one. Rio for Mardi Gras in Feb 08. That gives me 22 months & counting. Its all in the "ideas" stage at the moment but Im thinking of seeing Rio, Buenos Aries, Machu Pichu & maybe a little in the Amazon. Im thinking about making it a short one, only 2-3 months but moving pretty regularly. Im open to suggestions if anyone has been there before or thinks they might be interested in seeing part of it with me. Dave-cant sit still-Cox

Closing Ceremony
Well, the Commonwealth Games are finally over and I can go back to driving into work without it taking hours. We watched the closing ceremony was last night which I must admit was a little disapointing, but it was good to see Melbourne on display. Sarah Blasko was certainly the highlight, I will be making a very swift CD purchase this week. The official medal tally was a killing, 221 medals to Australia, 2nd place being England on 110 YAYYY, stick it up the poms !

Larry went Bananas
To all the Banana lovers out there...... Eat Up !... coz we wont have any next week. Unfortunately on Monday morning Catagory 5 Cyclone "Larry" cleaned up almost all of out Banana and Sugar Cane plantations up north... and there is another one on the way... Bastards ! Luckily we arent silly enough to build our cities/towns below the water table and the govenment gave everyone heaps of Evac warning so there was minimal flooding and no fatalities.
Take my bananas, take my home, take my pets, just not by a cyclone with a poxxy name like Larry !

Common "Wealth"
So the Melbourne Commonwealth Games starts tomorrow, the Queen is here, the baton has run it's way here and still no one seems to give a toss about it. I know all that I think about is that I work next to the Aquatic Centre and Albert Lake track, this is going to add on another half an hour to my already taxing travel times in and out of the city every day... Damn You Games !!!

The New Job
So the new job is going well, they actually just got the new Logo's done, so I thought i would show it off. It's all the usual work stuff, but I'm pretty relaxed here. So thats 2 out of 3 now... got the girl, got the job, now i just gotta sort out the house... the job is in south melbourne, so once i get payed i will start looking for my new place.. Im thinking St Kilda... thats right folkies... party central !.... we will see how it pans out. We have a work drinks/party tomorrow night, playing lawn bowls of all things, but its supposed to be 30 degrees so an outdoor bbq and beer playing lawn bowls could be a laugh. XX

Growing Pains
I have a pain in my left forearm, my diagnosis is : GROWING PAINS.
"Growing pains are a normal occurrence in about 25% to 40% of children. They generally strike during two periods: in early childhood, among 3- to 5-year-olds, and later on, in 8- to 12-year-olds. No firm evidence exists to show that the growth of bones causes pain. The most likely causes are the aches and discomforts resulting from the jumping, climbing, and running that active children do during the day.
Growing pains always concentrate in the muscles, rather than the joints. Most children report pains in the front of their thighs, in the calves, or behind the knees. Whereas joints affected by more serious diseases are swollen, red, tender, or warm, the joints of children experiencing growing pains appear normal. Although growing pains often strike in late afternoon or early evening before bed, there are occasions when pain can wake a slumbering child. The intensity of the pain varies from child to child, and most kids don't experience the pains every day. Although growing pains often point to no serious illness, they can be upsetting to a child - or a parent. Because a child seems completely cured of the aches in the morning, parents sometimes suspect that the child faked the pains. However, this usually is not the case. Support and reassurance that growing pains will pass as children grow up can help them relax."
