Well for those who were a little confused as to why all the city streets were packed with masses of Zombies, Saturday was "the international day of the Zombie".... hmmm.... I thought it hysterical that on the same weekend Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens with (there somewhat unconventional song and appearance) "Hard Rock Hallelulia". I hoped the Ukraine would win, but thats just coz of her skirt and boots !....

New Home

So it's finally organised, I have got myself an appartment in Armadale, its a 10 min drive to work, 5 min drive to St kilda and Albert Park and 5 mins to our rehearsal studio. Perfect !
Moving in this weekend. (god i hate moving).....

Fakes at The Laundry

Recording

I just finished recording the second "fakes" ep. Its currently tentitively titled "little deaths" with the first single being released in June "were you listening?". We have also been approached by a U.S. distro label in Seattle who want to play us on all college radio over there.... Nice.

Got home last night after 3 nights in Adelaide, not that we spent too much time there, Friday night after an 8 hour drive we suffered the "no selling of alcohol" rule in SA on good friday... AAHHHH..... saturday we went out to my favorite vineyard in the world 'D'arenburg', we "tasted" everything and bought 7 bottles... nice... afterward was a few stupid photos and picnic in the vineyards... then a few drinks in town, sunday we were up in German town Hahndorf for a bunch of beers follwed by cocktails in town... and then the drive home on monday. Fun trip all round.

Easter Road Trip

Fi and I are going to Adelaide in the morning for Easter, its an 8 hour drive, but we have the Mclaren Vale Wine region as a reward at the end. It's going to be a fight for the CD player I think, NO CURE !!!... Apparantly it will have been 1 year since i took her out for a "drink" the first time... so i guess this makes in an anniversary... hmmm.... anyway... D'Arenburg Wines here we come !

House Hunting

3 Bedroom house in Richmond, just around the corner from Swan Street, 20 min walk into city CBD. Pretzil, Tommy Guns and I have applied for this mansion !... Fingers crossed we get it. 2 Guitarists and a drummer..... god i can already imagine all the neighbors complaints !

Post Suicide - Pre Darkness

Well..... The Suicide Girls show last night was great, 6 Yanks and 1 Aussie, completely sold out venue and all the unsual antics. Great show. Late night.
Tonight is the Darkness gig. This is gonna be a laugh !!!!

Planning the next one.

It's a long way off but I'm planning the next one. Rio for Mardi Gras in Feb 08. That gives me 22 months & counting. Its all in the "ideas" stage at the moment but Im thinking of seeing Rio, Buenos Aries, Machu Pichu & maybe a little in the Amazon. Im thinking about making it a short one, only 2-3 months but moving pretty regularly. Im open to suggestions if anyone has been there before or thinks they might be interested in seeing part of it with me. Dave-cant sit still-Cox

Closing Ceremony

Well, the Commonwealth Games are finally over and I can go back to driving into work without it taking hours. We watched the closing ceremony was last night which I must admit was a little disapointing, but it was good to see Melbourne on display. Sarah Blasko was certainly the highlight, I will be making a very swift CD purchase this week. The official medal tally was a killing, 221 medals to Australia, 2nd place being England on 110 YAYYY, stick it up the poms !

Larry went Bananas

To all the Banana lovers out there...... Eat Up !... coz we wont have any next week. Unfortunately on Monday morning Catagory 5 Cyclone "Larry" cleaned up almost all of out Banana and Sugar Cane plantations up north... and there is another one on the way... Bastards ! Luckily we arent silly enough to build our cities/towns below the water table and the govenment gave everyone heaps of Evac warning so there was minimal flooding and no fatalities.
Take my bananas, take my home, take my pets, just not by a cyclone with a poxxy name like Larry !

he he he, I got an email from me ol' pal Jana who lives in London now. She went over to Ireland for St Patties last weekend (half her luck), but it's good to see she hasnt changed a bit and is still 'violating' her way around the world !

Back to rehersals

As of this week we (the fakes) are back in the studio before recording the next cd. All songs are completed and just need recording. The album is tentatively titled "little deaths". We should be set for a release through MGM Australia in June and Sublime Exile in Europe/Scandinavia in July. YAYYY....
